Eschscholzia californica subsp mexicana, or Mexican Golden Poppy, is a beautiful, low-growing annual wildflower that blooms after winter rains, February-May, and will reseed readily. They are found in a variety of habitat types with sandy and gravelly soil, up to 4500 ft. It is also found in our Pollinator Refuge Seed Mix. The quintessential spring wildflower of the southwest!
