Heart-Leaf Milkweed, or Asclepias cordifolia, is a perennial milkweed species that is a near-native to Arizona. It is primarily found in California, Nevada, and Oregon where it grows on rocky slopes and in evergreen woodlands and foothills chapparal between 160-6,500 ft elevation. This species grows to be 3 ft tall by 1 ft wide, has large heart-shaped leaves that are arranged opposite each other and clasp the stem, and produces umbles with dangling reddish purple flowers when it blooms May-August.
