Desert Marigold, or Bailey multiradiata, is one of the most iconic and beloved wildflowers of the Sonoran desert! This short-lived perennial forb grows to be 1.5 ft tall and wide and is found along arroyos and on slopes, plains, and roadsides below 5,000 ft elevation. Desert Marigold has dusty-green basal leaves and produces beautiful yellow flower heads at the end of long stems when it blooms March-October. The showy flower heads are 3-5 cm wide and have many-layered disc flowers with 3-toothed tips. This plant thrives in full sun and sandy or gravelly well-draining soils with low irigation requirements. Reseeds readily. No shipping.
