Trixis californica, or American Trixis, is a subshrub that grows to be 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide. It has bright yellow daisy-like flowers that are pollinated by hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. It’s habitat preference are lower and upper-deserts up to 5000 ft in elevation. They enjoy dry sunny areas, rocky hillsides, and desert washes. Some small rodents will shelter in these subshrubs. Plant in full sun and water occasionally.
